They keep trying to push smart meters on people under the pretence it’s necessary. From what I’ve heard, the government does want energy companies to offer smart meters to homes and small businesses, but no one’s actually forced to have one fitted. So there’s no law saying you must have a smart meter. Best to speak directly with your energy provider about it rather than letting random firms come round trying to install one. These lot sound like they’re just trying to take advantage of folks.
