Some bloke rang me saying he was from Amazon Prime about my subscription being about to run out. I actually do have Prime but I’m pretty sure they never call like that, and they just auto-renew unless you cancel yourself. The guy was dead eager for me to check my account online, which I reckon was a trick to get me on a dodgy site and nick my card details. A guy with a male voice told me my free Amazon Prime trial had ended and that I’d be billed £7.99 each month from now on. I said I don’t even use Prime, asked him to take my info off their call list, then just hung up. Got a call from a woman named Nicole, said she was from BT Openreach. She claimed my internet was involved in some sort of money laundering scheme and warned that they’d attempt to take money straight from my bank. She asked for my bank card details to "prevent" it. Seemed off to me.

I've been inundated with calls from this number every single day, kicking off at 7 in the morning and then ringing every half hour thereafter. They keep trying my landline, which is

Got a call from someone claiming to be Virgin Media. They tried to get me to let them access my computer to “fix” it, but I told them I don’t even have Virgin Media. Then the woman rudely told me to shut up. Such cheek!

Got a voicemail from this number today, second call actually, first time it just rang with no message. The message said something about £900 being charged on my Visa and to press 1 if it wasn’t me - total rubbish. I just deleted it straight away. Would block it but my phone’s memory is packed. With Black Friday and Christmas on the way, I reckon these dodgy calls will keep coming. I usually just let unknown numbers ring off now; if it’s truly important, they’ll leave a message. No message means no action from me.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Amazon, saying I owed money for my Prime membership. I played along and asked them to confirm my name, but they gave me the wrong one. I even told them I don’t have Prime or internet at all. After that, they just hung up. Blocked the number straight away. Pretty sure it was some scam messing about, probably after my bank info or something.

Got loads of calls about something called Prime Renewal asking if I’d given permission to take money from my bank. Didn’t even bother listening properly cos I already keep track of all my accounts and when they’re due for renewal. Pretty sure it’s a scam.

Got a call earlier from a woman with an Asian accent claiming she was from Virgin Media, saying our internet and computer had been hacked and our security was in danger. I’ve had a few calls like this before, all from different numbers, so I was pretty sure it was a scam. There was some noise in the background, like a busy call centre, but I reckon that might just be a recording to make it sound legit. As soon as I mentioned it sounded dodgy, they just ended the call. I rang Virgin Media myself to check both my account and the phone number, and they confirmed it was a phishing call. I’ve reported it to Action Fraud now.
