I got a call from a place called OM2 Solutions. A woman said the call was about some energy money I might be owed if I'm living at my address. When I asked what the requirements were, she said I had to be on benefits. I called them again later to confirm the company name and asked how they got my phone number. She said they bought data from various sources. I looked up the company online and found out it actually closed down in 2019. So I rang back again and spoke to a different man. I told him the company isn’t even registered anymore, and he said he'd remove my info and then hung up.

Some bloke rang me from a call centre in Bathgate, Scotland, asking if I’d like to answer some questions to see if I could get “government grants” for upgrading my boiler and insulation. I’m on the TPS list, which seems to do nowt, and told him I don’t think I qualify for those grants and reminded him he was calling a TPS-registered number. He just grunted and then hung up straight away. I’ll be reporting this to the TPS website, what a cheeky pest!

I've received my third call from this number in just a few days, with the latest one coming through around 8 o'clock this evening. I didn't give the chap much chance to articulate his sales pitch-he already knew my name and was gearing up to discuss "government funded loft insulation," I believe. I cut him short before he could elaborate on his purpose. Oddly enough, I had a doorstep cold caller recently, and it took a fair bit of effort to get him to grasp that when I said I wasn't interested, that was precisely what I meant! He seemed insistent on advising me about the same old topic: "government funded loft insulation." He probably eyed me and thought I was just some daft, "recycled youth," but I doubt he held that opinion for long-there were likely far less flattering thoughts running through his mind!
