Got a call from a number that looked like it was from my own area code. The person claimed I’d been in a car crash as a passenger at some point in the last three years. I asked for more info and they mentioned 2014, but then said they couldn’t share anything else because of data protection rules. They said they were Burkehill Underwriting, based on Couper Angus Road in Dundee. When I rang the number back, it turned out to be some place called Your Vehicle Consultants. Totally dodgy, definitely a scam!

Received a rather forceful phone call regarding a car accident I’ve never been involved in. The chap on the other end shouted, “So what are you doing in our database then?” It certainly wasn’t the first time they’ve rung me up. I decided to just hang up on him.

Rather cheeky, if you ask me. They ring me up and demand that I confirm my identity before disclosing the purpose of their call. And then, just like that, they hang up! It's quite the farcical performance, isn’t it?

Received a bothersome call from a number that didn’t bother to pick up when I answered. Instead, I was greeted by a voicemail rambling on about a car accident I certainly didn't experience. I highly advise against answering this number; it’s best to block it altogether.

Earlier today, my daughter, who has Asperger's, received a phone call on her mobile from this number. You can imagine her distress; she genuinely believed something terrible had happened to one of us in a car crash! The level of anxiety and worry this triggered in her was absolutely heartbreaking. It's utterly disgraceful, and to make matters worse, when you try to call the number back, it just leads to a voicemail. How is that even acceptable?
