I received a rather alarming automated call asserting that I had a debit of £900 on my Visa card. It instructed that if this transaction wasn't mine, I should press 1. At that point, I had already figured out it was a dodgy call, especially since it came from Lowestoft. Curiosity got the better of me, so I pressed 1 and was put through to a chap with a thick Indian accent. He seemed confused as to why I was calling and promptly asked for my full name. I told him he should get a real job because Karma is a thing, and to my surprise, he conceded and swiftly hung up. I'm left wondering who on earth is supplying these scammers with UK numbers from overseas!
