Someone called saying they were from BT because my internet was running slow. They told me to check my speed, which was indeed sluggish. Then they handed me over to another so-called technician who offered to fix it for me. They wanted me to enter something like A-N-Y-D-E-S-K into my browser. That immediately raised red flags. I told them I’d rather ring BT myself since it didn’t feel right, and then they just hung up. I’m pretty sure they were trying to get me to install Anydesk so they could take control of my computer remotely.
