got a call from a woman with an asian accent saying she was from bt about some security problem. she never asked for me by name, so i knew straight off it was a scam. told her to jog on and that she was just trying it on. honestly, was nicer than what i really felt like saying!

Honestly, if you don’t know who’s ringing, best just let it go to voicemail. Don’t throw away your hard earned cash on these lot.

I got a call from someone who claimed to be from BT and they started asking about my internet. When I told them I’d ring BT myself to see if this call was legit, they threatened me, saying “if you do that, my lads will turn up at your house with knives and sort you out.” It was pretty terrifying.

Had a call from 01501731658, supposedly Scotiand, at 7:46am. Someone in my house was still sleeping but I picked up anyway, then hung up straight away. Honestly, waking up to a random call so early really freaks me out, makes me think something bad has happened to someone close. Took me over half an hour to calm down after that. Not something I needed, especially with everything going on with covid right now.

Getting a call that early honestly made me panic for a moment, you just assume it's someone close with some emergency news. My heart literally skipped trying to figure out what was wrong. It's pretty cruel to put folks through that, especially with everything going on lately.
