Got a message from a woman in the US, sounded like a recording, warning me that if I didn’t ring back something bad would happen. Sounds like a total scam to me, really intimidating stuff.

Got a call from a number in Harthill, Scotland, with an American lady speaking all robotic-like, threatening legal trouble if I didn’t ring back. They claimed to be from HMRC or something. I wasn’t having any of it and blocked the number straight away.

Definitely a total scam! Got a voicemail from a woman with an American accent, pretending to be from the tax office, telling me to ring her 'hotline' or else there'd be trouble. Haha, straight to blocked!

So, I dialled the number back from a payphone and pretended to be the lawyer for the person they called about. I asked if they could explain the reason for their call. They switched to legal jargon but then brought up something about a social security number, which just showed how daft they really were. Seriously, 222? What a joke!

Somebody rang me pretending to be from HMRC, said if I didn’t pay up, they’d take me to court. Total scam, very dodgy.

Got a call just like this yesterday morning, sounded like some nasty scammers pretending to be from HMRC. They're switching it up using various landlines - yesterday it was a Leeds number, today a Harthill one. If you try to ring back, you might end up on a pricey premium rate line. Honestly, it's about time these scams were cracked down on for good.

a woman with an american accent claimed to be from the inland revenue and threatened me with legal trouble if i didnt ring her back. just so you know: 1) inland revenue changed to hmrc over 15 years ago; 2) hmrc don’t refer to their staff as ‘officers’; 3) if hmrc was really taking you to court, they’d make sure you’re properly informed way before any of this nonsense. i’m pretty sure this was a scam, so steer clear at all costs.

Got a call from this number saying they were from the Inland Revenue and that if I didn’t ring them straight away, I’d face legal trouble. Sounds like the usual scam that lots of others have reported too.
