11 yearsGot a call on August 4th from someone saying they were from TalkTalk, spent about 40 minutes on the phone. They told me there was some kind of nasty virus worse than anything I'd heard of and took control of my computer remotely - very high-tech sounding. Then they said something on my system had expired and it’d cost £6 to fix, to be paid by card. My card didn’t go through properly, so I got my partner to make the payment on his card instead. Right after the call ended, Western Union called to warn me I’d been scammed. I checked with both banks - they attempted to pull £695 from mine and managed to take £350 from my partner’s account.
