This number has rung me a few times already, so I didn’t bother saying anything when I answered. There was a long pause, maybe about 5 seconds, then just as I was about to call it a "bot" they cut the call. Only gets automated if you respond right away. Best to just pick up and hang up quick. shirley seems very busy today! had a chuckle at the ‘trom your intemet provider’ bit. like, who on earth would start a call with “hello this is your internet provider” instead of actually naming themselves like talktalk, sky, or bt? sounds like a total scam to me, so just block it straight away!

picked up the phone a bit late and all i heard was "shirley/american/ who knows" before they hung up - i checked 1471 and it showed the number was from pontypool! pretty sure they’ve somehow got the number illegally though. can’t really tell if it’s risky or not, but judging by the comments here, best to block it and assume it’s some kind of scam, don’t give anything away! also, this site is a bit annoying, wouldn’t let me send my comment till i clicked one of those buttons below, so i went with "unknown" since i can’t tell if it was really shirley or not.

Got a call earlier from a woman with an American accent saying her name was Shirley. This is the fourth time today, each call from a new number I keep blocking. She claimed my IP address had been hacked and said it was from BT, but I don’t even have BT as my provider. Pretty annoying!
