Got a call claiming there was an issue with my BT broadband. Thing is, I don't even use BT internet, so I just ended the call straight away. Pretty clear that was some kind of scam.

Somebody rang me but dropped the call when I didn't pick up since I didn't know the number. I'm happy I ignored it after I found out who it was.

So this guy David Wood (definitely not his actual name) is back at it from his job, now doing these weird, silent calls where some robotic voice just says "goodbye" and then ends the call! Honestly, next time he rings me, I’m going to give him the number of some other mystery caller, see if they want to chat - or stay silent like usual!

Just like the others, got a call from someone in India claiming my internet was being hacked. Since I’ve done some IT stuff, I decided to humour them. I asked what exactly I should do so I could jot it down - no reply. Then I requested them to verify my BT account number and email, but they dodged that too. Later, a ‘senior technician’ called with the same spiel. I said I needed to write everything down 'cause I was busy, and then he just cut the call!

Got a call from the same area code, which I later found out was from Rajasthan. I pretended not to understand for about five minutes. Then, he suddenly asked if I’d let him have remote access to my computer. After I refused, he started swearing in proper Anglo-Saxon fashion before hanging up. Watch out, these scammers are real nuisances!

I answered the phone and all I heard was silence at first, then some sort of recorded message kicked in. Someone who sounded Asian asked if I was “bleep.” I just hung up straight away. You can actually block numbers using BT’s 1572 service for free, so those annoying calls don’t keep coming back. Definitely a dodgy scam call if you ask me.

Some bloke called, said his name was David Wood and claimed he was from BT internet security. He told me there was an issue with my internet and that I needed to log into my bank account to sort it out. Bit odd though, this David Wood had a strong Asian accent and sounded like he was just reading from a script in a call centre.

I've gotten about four calls from them in just over an hour and a bit today. Got fed up and ended up swearing at them before slamming the phone down.

I've been getting calls from this number, 01497286471, but on a different landline. Every time it rings, there's complete silence on the other end. It’s really odd - I’ve had about three calls in the past four and a half hours and still no one talks.

I asked her where she had my info from since I’m not a BT customer, and she just hung up on me.

Got a call from someone saying they were with BT, talking about our internet service.

Got called a second time today by the same person, same old story about my internet being down. She said she was from “BT telephone lines” again. I told her I actually work as a BT telephone engineer and called her out for being a liar and probably a scammer. Then she just cut off the call. I’ve blocked the number, but I’m sure she’ll be back soon using a different one!
