Got a call from someone claiming to be from British Gas, saying there was a mistake with my bill because my postcode got swapped with someone else’s, and I’d be overcharged for electricity. He seemed to know some basic info, but after checking with my actual supplier, it turns out it’s a scam! They try to get you to hand over stuff like serial numbers or other details. Heard this is some sort of trick where they switch your energy provider without asking. Authorities are trying to sort it out, but it’s dragging on. Best thing is to hang up immediately and block the number!
