I received a call from someone with a pronounced accent reminiscent of Indian origins, who claimed to represent Google Internet Security. He insisted that my internet licence was compromised and that hackers were unlawfully accessing my account. He urged me to turn on my computer right away, but I decided it was best to hang up and promptly blocked the number using the 1572 service. Almost immediately, I received another call from a different number. When I probed for the location of their operations, he mentioned California but couldn’t provide a specific office address. So, I hung up once more and blocked that number too. This charade has been repeated multiple times, with them using various numbers, including 01887221495, 01962854353, 01495272877, 01962856666, and 0175291103. It’s clear they’ve cloned an assortment of numbers, so each time I block one, they simply ring from another. Quite the nuisance, isn’t it?
