This number keeps calling me, every time pushing some energy deal. Really annoying!

Some woman with a northern accent rang my landline asking for the home number. I told her we don’t answer calls from anyone who can’t even give us a name and that we’re ex-directory, so what she's doing feels like a breach of the rules to me. I demanded she remove our number from their records. Then she had a cheek to start quoting the law back at me! I told her off for daring to lecture me and just hung up. Seriously, who do these people think they are, bothering folks in their own homes? I'm absolutely boiling right now!

For the past three nights, I've been getting calls from this number around the same time each evening. Whenever we pick up, there’s silence on the other end, then the call just ends. When we try to return the call, it either just rings endlessly before hanging up, or the call connects for a moment before being dropped straight away. I searched online to see who owns this number and stumbled upon several complaints from others, all of whom have unlisted numbers like us, and are just as baffled as to how these callers got hold of their details. One site mentioned it could be a ‘reverse charge’ call, meaning we might be footing the bill. If anyone could help identify the owner of this number and assist in blocking these calls, I’d really appreciate it. Cheers.
