I received a call on my landline from a young lady speaking with a northern accent, who requested our home number. I informed her rather firmly that we don’t entertain calls from individuals who don’t recognise our name, especially as we’re ex-directory. In my view, she was overstepping the mark, so I asked her to remove our details from their records. What infuriated me even more was her audacity to start quoting the law back at me; I found that quite cheeky! After expressing my disbelief, I ended the conversation abruptly. Who are these callers, and what gives them the right to intrude upon our privacy like that? I’m absolutely livid!

I've been receiving calls from this number at the exact same time over the past three nights. When we pick up, it goes silent. If we attempt to return the call, it either rings endlessly before disconnecting or connects briefly before cutting off again. A quick search on Google reveals that I'm not alone; quite a few others have filed similar complaints, and interestingly, many of them are also ex-directory, much like ourselves. It's baffling how they’ve managed to obtain our numbers. I came across a mention on a site suggesting it might be a ‘reverse charge’ call, which means we could actually be footing the bill for their nuisance. I would truly appreciate any assistance in identifying who belongs to this number and in blocking it. Thank you ever so much!
