For the past few days, looks like my IP address has been throwing some kind of errors to TT. I got a call from someone saying they'd assist me in changing my IP address. I told her I was capable of doing it on my own, but she insisted I needed her help. I told her again I could manage fine by myself, and then the call abruptly ended. Today alone, I’ve had four calls from this scam trying the same thing. Every time, I tell them to stop calling, but they just won’t quit. - caller: TalkTalk Scam

I've been getting calls from TalkTalk, or so they claim, nearly three times daily, each time from a different number. The latest call came from this particular number. The caller asked for my daughter by her name. When I said she wasn’t available, he launched into the usual spiel about some criminal trying to hack into my computer. I told him I wasn’t a TalkTalk customer anymore (which wasn’t true). That seemed to set him off, and he started hurling all sorts of insults at me, which I won’t even repeat here. Honestly, it’s got to stop because if an older person answered, they’d probably be really shaken up. It’s just rude and unfair.

Got a call today from a bloke claiming to be Pakistani. He asked for me by name but got my daughter instead. She told him I was busy at work and if she could help. Then out of nowhere he said something really nasty about wanting to please her in the shower. Thankfully, my daughter has a good sense of humour and just laughed it off. He got annoyed and asked why she was laughing, she replied, “At you, definitely not happening mate.” Then he reckoned he was an ex of mine and asked again if he could “please her”. I’ve been with my husband since I was 15, nearly 47 years now (probably knew him from primary school, hahaha). My daughter just hung up on the creep. Honestly though, this isn’t funny at all, especially if you’re living on your own. It’s disgusting behaviour that needs to be stopped. My dad had something similar a few months back too.

Got a call from them yesterday, and they rang once more today. The person claimed to be from TalkTalk and said my internet was sending out signals about loads of viruses that needed fixing. She wanted me to log onto my PC and do what she said. But when I told her our internet was working fine and if anything was wrong I'd get in touch with customer support myself, she got a bit rude!

Hi, this is Hamil. Seems like someone’s been messing around with my IP address. I explained that since I got a new router, this issue keeps happening non-stop, so I reckon I need a replacement box. The guy tells me that’ll be £100! I wasn’t having it, told him it’s their fault since they gave me dodgy kit, so they should sort it out. Then, bang - the call just got cut off. Was really hoping for some help there! Guess I’ll just hang tight and see if TalkTalk rings me back.

Today I got a call from this number, a woman named 'Jenny' claimed she was with TalkTalk wanting to talk about my internet. A couple of months ago, these lot tried to scam me already so I just hung up straight away.

this number rang me a couple times lately, always asking for my oldest daughter by her name. since she’s never actually lived here, i got suspicious straight away. the line sounded pretty poor, and the person had an asian accent. whenever i requested to talk to a manager or supervisor, the call was cut off right away. now ive added the number to my call barring list and blocked unknown callers too, but somehow they keep finding ways around it.

Someone rang me pretending to be from TalkTalk, saying there was an issue with my IP address security. When I asked for a contact number to confirm who he was, he gave me a number and then just cut the call. I checked the number afterwards and it wasn’t even real.

This number rang me claiming to be from TalkTalk, saying there was suspicious activity linked to my IP address. They asked me to get on my computer, and oddly enough, they knew my name and sounded pretty legit. I told them to email me the details as proof, but they insisted they already had - even though I never got anything. I said no and ended the call. When I rang back, the same person just said “hello” with no mention of any company. Definitely some sort of hacking scam, watch out!
