A caller purporting to be from BT reached out to us. Given that we've been grappling with some broadband hiccups, I was momentarily taken in. However, my instincts have shifted. They claimed there was some dodgy activity, warning that our landline and broadband were on the brink of disconnection. They insisted I plug my computer into the line so they could conduct tests and sort things out. I asked them to ring back tomorrow instead. Something about this seems rather off.
