Another call from BT saying there’s a problem with my internet, total scam again!

Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent saying she was from BT and that my internet was acting up, said I was getting hacked and my connection kept getting slower when I used it. I told her “I don’t think that’s right” and she just ended the call. Sounds like the same sort of dodgy scam I almost got caught by last year! Proper scary stuff.

Had a call from someone saying they were from BT, asking loads of questions about my modem. Definitely sounds like a scam or some kind of spam. Be careful if you get a call like that. I've added the number to my blocked list now.

I got a call this morning and also yesterday from someone saying they were with Virgin Media. They told me there was a problem and if I didn’t sort it out today, my service would get cut off tomorrow. The lady had an Indian accent and her English wasn’t very clear.

Got a call from a guy claiming to be from BT saying my phone line was down. I told him, if my line’s down, how come you’re able to ring me? He just ended the call after that. Pretty dodgy if you ask me.

So this number tried to ring me at about 9:17 this morning, but luckily my BT Call Protect stopped it from coming through. Looks like BT already knows it’s either some foreign number or something dodgy that doesn’t add up. Lately I’ve been getting loads of random calls from everywhere. I did pick up once and it was some call centre from India, even though the caller ID said it was a UK number. After that, I just blocked every single one!

Got a call from this number again, but it was a woman this time. She claimed there was a problem with my internet line and said she was from BT. I told her we don’t use BT and she just ended the call. These scammers really try all sorts!

I got a call from someone pretending to be BT saying there was something wrong with my internet. They asked if they could get into my Macbook by running some kind of test online. I told them straight up I wasn’t going to let them anywhere near my laptop and that I'd just use my iPad instead, which doesn’t have any important info on it. The woman got a bit rude and ended the call abruptly. Honestly, I was ready to tell her off properly. Definitely steer clear - sounds like a scam to me.

The bloke said his name was Eddie Russell and said he was calling from 81 Newgate Street, but when I asked for the postcode, he just wouldn’t say. As soon as I said the word "fraud," he just cut the call. Definitely felt like a scam.

I got a call from a bloke with an Asian accent saying there was an issue with my router. I asked for my account number just to check, but he just rattled off some nonsense digits. When I said that wasn’t right, he started getting a bit shouty. I ended the call and then phoned BT, who kindly added a free blocker to my line to keep these dodgy calls out.

This landline number 01493 851 724 called me twice. The initial call asked me to press 1 or 2 to verify my internet provider. I had a feeling they’d ring again and, as expected, another call came through. The bloke on the line, who sounded Asian, claimed there was a security problem with my router. I told him it seemed like a scam and he started swearing at me repeatedly. Really rude behaviour.

Got a call like that today, asked the bloke if he could tell me my own surname at least. He wasn’t able to, then suddenly got quite pushy and rude. Told him off pretty quick. Proper aggressive trying to squeeze info, not nice at all.
