Unlike lots of spam calls I’ve been getting lately, this one rang for quite a while before stopping. The number showed up as being from Colwyn Bay, but I don’t know anyone there. No voicemail left either. Blocked straight away.

Avoid these lot! I got a call from a guy claiming he could cover the cost if I switched networks early. Sounded nothing like a professional, super cheeky and persistent too. He reckoned he was with compare the network or something like that. Proper scam if you ask me!

So this woman called, claiming she could sort out a better deal on my phone contract. She wanted to know who my provider was, and when I told her it was UK Telecom or whatever, she seemed to know it too. Being suspicious, I asked straight-up how much they’d rip me off each month, on top of the deal. She said there’d be no hidden charges at all. I just laughed, ended the call, and blocked the number right away. Definitely felt like a dodgy sales tactic to me.

somebody rang me saying they've got an offer to upgrade my android contract. problem is, i don't even own an android phone! when i told them they were cold calling me and that i'm on the no cold call list, she said she wasn't breaking any rules cos she got through to my number - ended the call straight after. honestly, these sorts should be stopped by the companies giving them phone access, same with those sending texts showing a name instead of a number to pretend they're in your contacts > phone providers, get your act together and stop letting this rubbish happen.

Got a call from someone trying to get me to upgrade an O2 contract. I played along for a bit then flipped it on them by saying, "That's good and all, but I don't actually have an O2 contract." They just hung up straight away!

I picked up and the person on the other end was talking somehow, but I couldn't make out who they were. I asked them to repeat themselves, but they just went straight into trying to sell me an upgrade for my O2 deal - which is weird cos I dont actually have one. Told them that but they kept on chatting anyway. The line started dropping out so I just ended the call and blocked the number. So they ring you up once, you catch some weird crackling sounds, and suddenly they drop the line in just a few seconds. Your head’s all scrambled and you’re just sat there wondering who the heck was on the other side. When you ring them back, bam, they hit you with a ridiculous £100,000.00 per minute fee. There's some dodgy legal grey area too, so if you don’t cough up, you could end up behind bars in no time. Proper nightmare!
