Some bloke rang me saying "Hi, this is Dan returning your call about the cavity wall insulation survey." Thing is, I’ve never done any such survey or asked for one. When I asked for the company's name and details, he quickly said "Alright, no worries" and then just hung up. I told him it was an issue since our number's on the TPS list and what he was doing is illegal. I've since reported the call to the Information Commissioner's office. It’s easy to do and if enough people complain about the same number, they could get hefty fines.

He said loads of folks had gone for a loft insulation scheme but were now having problems with damp and condensation. He kept going on about it, so I just told him my loft insulation wasn’t from any government scheme - I’d only had it done recently anyway, so it meets all the current rules. I also mentioned I’m on the TPS, so he really shouldn’t be ringing me, and that I’d be reporting them to TPS.
