Sounds like a total dodgy call. They said they were from Virgin Media’s tech support and wanted me to put something into the run box on my PC. When I tried to check if they were legit and asked for some proof about my account, they just threw out a random code and then said they couldn’t tell me my account number over the phone because of “security reasons.” Definitely felt like a scam to me.
