Over the past couple of days, I’ve been getting these random calls every few hours, with no one actually speaking when I answer. The phone marks them as either 'international' or 'unavailable', but when I looked up the numbers, they all seem to be from the UK: 01307068246 is from Angus, Scotland, 01542344421 from Keith in north-east Scotland, 01204196776 near Bolton, Manchester, 01288815406 around Bude in Cornwall, and 01491095084 from Henley-on-Thames in Oxfordshire. Normally, I don’t pick up and never chat with them, but last times these calls were automated, giving panic-inducing messages about supposed data breaches or internet security issues, trying to get us to follow certain steps. We always hang up and block these numbers, but then a new one shows up an hour later and the cycle repeats until it finally stops after a few days. Seems like these annoying bursts of cold calls come back every few months or so.
