5 yearsThis number 01489794783 keeps showing up in my favourites and I can’t seem to remove it. It was a missed call from a landline, or at least I think it is, and no idea who it is. Very frustrating!7 yearsI received a rather dubious phone call earlier, claiming it was time to renew our BT account. They insisted on speaking with the individual responsible for the account. I swiftly clarified that we don’t even possess a BT account, which immediately alerted me to the fact that I was being targeted by scammers. While I was busy searching for their number online, I stumbled upon numerous scam reports regarding them. The caller chuckled in the most condescending manner, insisting, “Yes, your account is due for renewal, may I speak to the person in charge? Is that you?” When I inquired about who I was speaking with, and she mumbled "Onecom," I promptly hung up. - Caller: OnecomOnecom7 yearsGot a call from someone claiming our BT contract was coming up for renewal and they wanted to speak to whoever handles it. I told them we don’t have a BT account, so I instantly suspected it was a con. While talking, I quickly looked up their number online and saw loads of warnings about scams. The woman on the line chuckled sort of mockingly and insisted it was up for renewal, asking if I was the right person to talk to. When I asked who they were, she mentioned Onecom, and that was enough for me to just hang up straight away.BTOnecom7 yearsSomeone rang claiming to be from BT, said they were going to switch my phone line or something. I ended up calling BT myself and they confirmed it's definitely a scam.BT7 yearsOnecom called me but pretended they were from BT, which isn’t really true. They simply use the BT network, like loads of other firms do, unless it’s Virgin or something. I spoke to a chap named Jason who said my account was under review and he wanted to check a few things like how much I usually spend and when my plan ends. I told him I wasn’t interested in any deals but he just cut me off. They seem like a proper company just annoying, ringing me every week even after I said I’m not interested.OnecomBTVirginJason7 yearsMight have been a genuine call but felt a bit sneaky - they kept saying things like ‘since you’re on the Openreach network, you ought to check your tariff with us’ and kept bringing up our BT account, which we don’t actually have. Seemed pretty shady to me.OpenreachBT7 yearsGot a dodgy call pretending to be from BT, saying it was about a business place on a leased line. They were asking for who our provider was, but I just told them I wasn’t interested and ended the call.BT7 yearsShe claimed to be ringing from BT, but that wasn’t true at all.BT7 yearsHad a polite woman on the line saying she was calling from BT and needed to verify some details on my account. I told her to put it in writing because that’s how I usually get any info from BT - through letters. She then said that couldn’t be done, so I didn’t carry on with the call. I said I’d look into the number she was calling from. I’ve now blocked that number.BT7 yearsGot a call today from someone named "Jason" trying to pitch a review for our office phone line. Figured I'd check the number out here first, and yep, just like I thought, it's a total scam.Jason7 yearsGot a call from a bloke claiming he needed to talk about our BT account review. After asking a few questions, he finally confessed he wasn’t actually with BT but was pushing another telecom company’s service. Really dodgy and misleading. Wouldn’t trust him.BTBest7 yearsI got a phone call telling me my BT account needed reviewing, even though I only renewed it a couple of months back. The woman said she was ringing from Onecom, which seemed totally unrelated to BT. She was pitching a supposedly better deal, but when I spoke to my business rep, it turned out my current contract was actually better. My advice to anyone these folks call is to double-check all the details before signing anything. I don’t reckon it’s a scam, just some independent company out to earn some cash.BTOnecom7 yearsGot a call from someone pretending to be BT - total scam, don’t trust them! Been warned, so watch out folks and keep clear!7 yearsGot a call from this number, some bloke said it was about changes to our BT business account prices. He sounded pretty unprofessional, way different from the slick scammers I've dealt with before claiming to be from BT. Seemed a bit amateurish honestly.BT7 yearsTotally fake, I reckon that positive review in green was just them attempting to trick folks into believing this number’s legit.7 yearsSome guy was on the phone telling me that BT was upping their prices on our account.7 yearsAbsolute scam rubbish. Same here, told them we’ve no BT account at all! Utterly pointless and brainless, just so frustrating.
