Spotted this number pretending to be from my bank's fraud team today, saying there were suspicious charges on my card from Amazon and elsewhere. Since the number had my area code, I immediately smelled a rat. When I hit "2" to supposedly talk it over, I got blasted with a loud screech before some foreign bloke answered. I just told him to bugger off. Tried calling back at 10:15 but it just went straight to voicemail with no pick up. Seems like they’ve cloned a local number to trick people.
