I received a call from a firm called 'Fair Trade Co' who claimed I'd contacted a PPI company about three years back. They even mentioned the name of the agent I had conversed with, though my case had been resolved. Shortly thereafter, they pivoted to something else, though they refused to disclose what this was until I provided my personal information for verification. I was quick to point out that under GDPR regulations, there’s absolutely no justification for that company to retain my information once my case was wrapped up, let alone sell it on. I insisted they erase my information and firmly declined to provide any details to verify my identity. Their approach was quite aggressive, I must say!

Based on what folks have said here, looks like this is Fair Trade Practice. When I dealt with them before about PPI, they were pretty professional and handled things through referrals.
