01488310590 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 01488310590 👆 is reported as a persistent scam involving calls pretending to be local energy advisors offering free loft insulation or home energy surveys. Callers use multiple numbers and often begin with a prompt to hear your voice, which many suspect is for advanced voice cloning scams. Most people do not recognise the numbers; calls typically go unanswered or are blocked after no message is left. The callers rarely identify themselves properly or their company, and attempts to engage them often result in scripted sales pitches or disconnects. Many describe these as nuisance calls, with warnings about the risk of falling victim to identity fraud or voice biometric theft. Reporting such calls to official bodies is emphasised to help combat the increasing volume of these fraudulent attempts.

Got a call from a number I didn’t recognise so I just let it go to voicemail, thinking it might be some sort of spam. Used this site to check it out and sure enough, it was dodgy. I’ve gone ahead and blocked it, plus reported it too.

This guy called from loads of different numbers, trying to get me to say yes to some home insulation deal. Seemed like a total scam to me. Best just not to reply or get involved at all.

Got a call from this number late in the morning, Call Guardian picked it up. No intro or message left, so I ended up hanging up. Seems like some kind of scam to me.

A bloke rang me and wouldn’t say who he was or what company he worked for when I asked, just kept going. After a bit he finally answered, said he was involved with a government scheme for home insulation, got my number from the installers who did the work, and said he was from South London. Then he just launched back into his sales pitch. I told him enough and hung up.

Got a ring on my main number but didn’t pick up cause it showed up as ‘nuisance’. No voicemail left, so clearly a SCAM. They’ve called me before, using the same area code but different last few digits. Seems like they’re really persistent!!

They offered a free visit, but I said no thanks.

I saw some of the comments below explaining how to spot this kind of scam and who to notify about these fraud calls, like through the official police channels and OfCom’s system that was set up by the previous government to track and tackle these cases. There’s also talk about the risks from AI voice cloning, which I saw on a TV programme recently - absolutely terrifying! It’s shockingly simple for someone to fall prey to it. That said, if you keep your wits about you and know what to look for, you can steer clear of it quite easily.

Got a call where they kept going on about damp issues, condensation and loft insulation. Ended up cutting them off because it was just a pestering call!

Got a call but as soon as I picked up, the person just disconnected and didn’t say a thing. Felt a bit dodgy to me.

Got a call around 9:20 this morning but it just went straight to my voicemail. They didn’t leave any message, so I figured it was probably just another one of them scam calls.

Got a call on my home phone from a lady, sounded pretty legit at first. She asked if I could hear her alright, but I didn’t say anything. Then suddenly, the voice switched to this robotic kind of woman talking about solar power halfway through a sentence. I just ended the call there. Total scam, no doubt about it.

They called me thrice, straight to voicemail each time, then just hung up. Blocked them now.

The caller ID on my landline showed it might be a spam call, so I just ignored it. I saw somewhere that these scams try to get you to answer just so they can record your voice and maybe use it for fraud or something. That's why they ask, “Are you there?” I’m thinking of cutting off my landline soon because I’m sick of all these annoying rings. Still, I reckon my mobile will start getting bombarded with calls as well... typical.

Got a call on my landline, sounded like one of those automated voice message things. Seen a few different numbers doing the same recently, so I just ended the call. Seems like an energy company scam, best to ignore it.

The number showed up as 'Nuisance Call?' on my caller ID, which looked odd, so I didn't answer. I don't know who it was. Left it to voicemail just in case, but nothing was recorded. I've gone ahead and blocked the number now.

Some bloke called claiming to be an energy advisor, saying my loft insulation was making the place damp and asked if he could pop round. Then he just went quiet and hung up. Felt a bit dodgy to me.

It was Bank Holiday Monday when I got a call from a number I didn’t know, so I picked it up. “Hello, can you hear me?” came a clear English voice, no accent. “I’m Jane, calling about Solar…” she started. I didn’t hang about and ended the call straight away before they could pitch anything. Felt like a recorded message since they never responded to what I said.

The guy rang saying he was James, some kind of local energy advisor, and asked if I could hear him alright. He claimed their files had me down as the homeowner and said I might qualify for free loft insulation. I asked where he got my number and who he worked for, but he just said they purchased info from companies and showed I hadn’t had the free upgrade before. I told him nicely I wasn’t bothered and asked him to remove my details from their database.

This bloke said we'd be getting £2900 back cuz we overpaid on our mortgage. I asked if they could post it to us but they said no, too risky to lose it in the mail. Hung up on him straight away. What a bunch of scumbags.

Got a call on my landline from 01488310590 but I never pick up the landline since I always use my mobile. Looked it up and looks like it’s likely a scam.

Missed the call as I was busy, and since there was no voicemail left, I won’t bother returning it. The number and code don’t ring any bells. Also, I saw the useful remarks down the page about numbers that are almost the same, just with different last two digits.

Never picked up 'cause didn’t know the number, but honestly, if you do, watch out for voice theft - it's a big risk now, especially with banks gearing up to use voice for security. Best just let it ring out, but if you do end up on the line, keep quiet and make sure to block the caller straight away.

Got a call from some bloke claiming to be James, said he was my local energy advisor. Asked if I owned the property, then suddenly he realised he was just talking to my voicemail and ended the call. Annoying call, probably dodgy if you start talking to them. Would watch out.

That call wasn’t from a human, just some AI bot. Got a random ring about some energy scam. Didn't bother, just ended it straight away.
