4 yearsThey insisted that I settle a debt which I simply don't owe.4 yearsI didn’t answer at first but when I called back it just kept beeping nonstop.4 yearsThey claimed to be a government-endorsed debt recovery service, but the moment I began to probe into their credibility, the call abruptly dropped. Sounds like a fraudulent operation to me!4 yearsDidn't pick up the call because my phone flagged it as a suspicious number and put it on hold automatically.4 yearsI just put it straight on my block list.4 yearsThey seriously ought to be tracked down and dealt with, especially since they’re preying on elderly folks. It’s just not right.4 years01487 898625 kept calling me but my phone’s blocking it now, thank goodness. Bad number for sure.4 yearsThey claimed to be from some official government debt recovery agency. I asked how they got my number and told them no such department existed. Then they repeated, like three times, "you're f***ing ####, I'm hanging up." Pretty obvious they weren’t legit. I blocked them and reported the call straight away.4 yearsGot a call from someone saying they were from a debt help service, but it definitely felt like a scam or some kind of fraud. Wouldn't trust it at all.4 yearsSome bloke called saying he was from Citizens Advice, but I could hear him chuckling with mates in the background. I asked why he was laughing and then he just hung up. My son tried calling back but the number didn’t come up at all. Definitely a scam!Citizens Advice4 yearsOne thing that helped me was blocking the first five digits of the phone number, which basically stops calls from that entire area code or city. I grabbed a free call blocker app from the Google Play store called Should I Answer. It lets you block loads of numbers all at once, which is super handy. Honestly, it’s a great little app that’s saved me a lot of hassle.4 yearsSome bloke with a thick Indian accent rang me, claiming he was from a debt consolidation firm or something along those lines. I told him straight up he was a fraud, especially since the number popped up as suspicious in a search. He kept insisting, "I no scammer madam, this number is legit." I fired back, saying the phone number might be real, but the company’s a proper scam and if you work for them, you’re no better - you’re a con artist too. Then I basically told him to jog on.4 yearsI keep getting calls from all sorts of different numbers, this one included, from someone saying they’re from the “Credit Investigation Team” about supposed “issues with my credit” that could end in “debt collection or bailiffs” or something like that. It’s clearly a con for a few reasons: 1) they’ve got no ties to any bank or lender I’ve ever used 2) I’m not in any financial trouble that could cause that sort of hassle & 3) even though I’ve asked them nicely more than once to stop contacting me (and blocked their numbers), they just keep using new phone numbers to ring me again and again. I’ve had enough of being polite now and just tell them straight up they’re dodgy scammers before hanging up and blocking the number each time.Credit Investigation TeamSubmit Your Own Report (01487 898625)
