I got a call from this number tonight at about 8:15pm on 10/12/25 but I missed it because it disconnected before I could pick up. I didn’t leave a voicemail or anything. Thought it was strange to get a call at that hour, so I looked it up online. Seems like nobody has reported this number for the past three years. I've just gone ahead and blocked it anyway.

Got a call from someone with an Asian accent saying they were from OpenReach. They knew my name and postcode straight away. When I asked for a phone number to call back, they gave one without hesitation. I told them that OpenReach never reaches out to customers directly, but they insisted, saying, "Actually, we handle broadband in your area and just finished some upgrades - I'm here to check if your service is alright." I wasn't convinced and ended the call.

I received a call from someone purporting to be from BT, but they didn’t disclose their identity until I pressed them for it. They asserted that they were my internet provider, but the truth is, I don’t even have BT for my broadband. When I inquired about the organisation they actually represented, the line fell silent and they abruptly ended the call. Quite dodgy, if you ask me!

I've received a call from these folks twice in the last 48 hours. The initial one was from a woman, and just now a chap rang me claiming to be from BT Openreach, supposedly about my internet. He started prattling on, offering me a phone number and the name of his 'manager' to verify their legitimacy. I told him to jog on and find something better to do before ending the call.

Got a call from a woman speaking with a Pakistan/Indian accent. I just played along to keep them tied up and make sure they got billed for the call. She kept saying she was from BT, claiming my BT Internet was oddly uploading files from my gadgets. Their tale kept switching up, but it’s clearly the same old scam. They wanted me to jump onto my device right away and hook it up to the internet. Watch out for these scammers!

Got a call from a woman with a Pakistan or Indian accent, claiming to be from BT. I decided to play along just to waste their time and make sure they pay for the call. She was saying that my BT internet was somehow suspiciously uploading files onto my devices? The excuses kept changing but the whole scam was pretty clear. They wanted me to rush over and hook up my device to the internet straight away. Honestly, watch out for these scammers!

Got a call from this number earlier pretending to be from Citizen Advice, saying they needed to talk to me about my debt. I told the bloke I was fed up with him ringing all the time, and he admitted he'd been calling me twice a day for almost a month. He kept banging on about unsecured loans I supposedly can’t pay off and offered me some legal help! He said his name was Gary - so dodgy, 100% a scam if you ask me.

Got a call twice from someone with an Indian subcontinent accent, claiming to be from BT. I just said cheers and hung up. Then he called again a bit later, so I asked him for proof he was really from BT. After that, he admitted he wasn't with BT but was working for some broadband server. I told him to quit wasting my time and ended the call.

I had a rather peculiar encounter with someone from BT Openreach regarding online scams. The bloke just kept rambling on, and when I cheekily proposed that I ring up London, he suddenly seemed flustered. It was clear he wasn't quite up to scratch. So, I decided to end the call. I just told them to shove off and ended the call. Then about an hour later, that same number rang back. I cut it off pretty quickly before they even got a chance to speak.

Some bloke rang claiming to be from BT, but I’ve never had an account with them. I told him to be ashamed of himself and to find a real job instead of trying to rip people off. He just swore at me and hung up.

014878001982 rang me pretending to be from BT OpenReach. When I challenged him, he got really pushy and said I had to cooperate. I asked if he was threatening me and he actually admitted it! I just ended the call there. No more calls from them so far.

Got a call from someone with a heavy Indian accent but with a very British name. They were going on about BT internet security stuff as usual. I just told them to find a real job. Then, believe it or not, I got pretty much the same call but from another number the day before.

This number rang me again just two days after the first time. Same rubbish story as before. I can't imagine having a job like whoever makes these calls. Do they not have any sense of honesty or common decency? Clearly not, from what I can tell.

I received a call around half past one this afternoon from a chap introducing himself as Jack Watson, though he had a noticeable Asian accent. He claimed there was an issue with my IP address being accessible to the public. I explained that I was unable to talk as I was awaiting a taxi, and he suggested he’d reach out again at three o'clock. True to his word, he did indeed call back, but I’d been clever enough to look up the number first, so I chose not to pick up. He was quite insistent, ringing me twice in total! I've learned my lesson - if the caller’s identity is a mystery to me, I simply won’t engage until I've verified the number they’re using. It's saved me from a lot of hassle over time!

I've received numerous calls over the past couple of weeks, often before half-past nine in the morning. When I answer, there's typically just dead air, even after repeated greetings. On two occasions, they asked if they were speaking to Mrs..., which I found rather puzzling as I'm registered with a no cold calling preference. Furthermore, it’s clear any legitimate services I use would know to address me as Miss. I’ve noticed an accent that seems to originate from the same region in Asia on both times I engaged with them. I've informed them that these calls are illegal, and I explicitly requested they cease this incessant harassment; unfortunately, it appears to have made no difference whatsoever.

Got a call from a guy with an Indian accent saying he was from BT, warning me my internet had been compromised. Yeah, right - thought it was a load of nonsense. Told him straight up that sounded dodgy and he was probably trying to pull a fast one. He kept insisting he was legit and that everything he said was true. I asked him for his name and employee ID to verify with BT myself. Just stringing him along, really. He hung up pretty quickly after that - I reckon he didn’t have an ID to back up his story.

This is the second time I've received a call from this number. A chap on the other end enquired, "How are you?" I retorted, "Why on earth are you asking me that? I haven’t the foggiest who you are." He promptly disconnected. It appears I have a knack for ruffling their feathers. How unfortunate!

Got three calls from a guy who sounded Chinese, speaking English with an accent. Two of those calls were like that. Then there was one call from a bloke with a proper English accent. All of these rang me super early in the morning. When I called back, the voicemail had an American accent on the other end. Quite odd!

They keep ringing non stop, really pushy lot. Looks like they target folks who might get scared or just give in after a while. I’ve tried to report them but there's no proper place to do so - Action Fraud doesn't seem bothered unless you’ve lost money already, and no one seems to trace these numbers. It's clear they want to steal straight out, and it’s a shame because it makes Openreach look bad too.

Some bloke, sounded Asian, named Derelict or somethin’ from “BT outreach” kept ringin’ me. Proper persistent, he was. I ended the call quick but he phoned back two more times. One of my phones has a messed-up number display, so I answered once then hung up again. Ignored the last ring, which was wise after I checked 1471 to see who it was.

They keep ringing non-stop, really pushy. It’s obvious they target folks who might be easily intimidated or worn down. Feels like there’s absolutely no place to report these con artists - Action Fraud basically ignores you unless you’ve lost money already, and nobody seems to keep tabs on these numbers. They’re straight up trying to steal from people, and it’s also making Openreach look really bad.

01487 801982 Got an annoying call from a pushy lady claiming to be from BT, warning my internet would be cut off soon. I played along for ages, much to my granddaughters' delight who were just watching. Even as I hung up, she kept threatening me. Then she called back right away, so I had a bit more fun messing with her before telling her to get the Openreach chaps to come over. This kind of harassment is really worrying, especially for folks who might not know better.

It seems that this number or the individuals associated with it are engaged in a rather unscrupulous BT and internet con, attempting to coerce individuals into granting access to their computers through intimidation tactics. It's a pity that the authorities haven't managed to apprehend them yet.

Received a call from this number on the 9th of August, and then twice today, the 10th. They purported to be from BT, insisting there’s an issue with my internet connection. The chap presented himself with a classic English name but his English was quite poor. The funny thing is, I’m not even a BT customer! When I mentioned I’d be discussing it with my son who is employed by BT, the caller abruptly ended the conversation. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!

I received a call from someone asking if I was Mrs ---, to which I responded in the affirmative. Almost immediately, he launched into a rather dubious spiel about issues with my computer-definite warning sign number one. Upon inquiring whether this would take long, his utterly baffling response was, "Oh no, my dear, this won't take long at all." Talk about multiple red flags waving! I firmly instructed him not to call me "my dear," and he suddenly became quite condescending, insisting his only aim was to guard my computer against pesky hackers, love. I reiterated that “love” wasn’t his to use either. He then demanded I switch on my device and heed his directions. Naturally, I refused, leading him to resort to shouting threats about severing our internet connections while I expressed my doubts about his credibility. Then, he simply hung up. I have a hunch it was something I said that irked him!

Just had a rather unpleasant experience with a scammer claiming to be from BT. Initially, they were very cordial, but as soon as I mentioned that I wasn’t interested in speaking, their tone flip-flopped dramatically. It became downright aggressive, and I could hear them bellowing even after I’d set the receiver down on the desk. To my astonishment, they continued their tirade until they eventually hung up. I really regret not recording the whole encounter-these individuals seem to thrive on intimidation and arrogance.

I received a call from someone claiming to be Mike Williams from BT Openreach, asserting that there were issues with my internet security. They provided me with a number to ring back which, when I did, was answered as BT. Shortly after, I got a rather aggressive return call where they insisted vehemently that it wasn’t a scam. Their insistence left me uncomfortable, and I decided to hang up as they kept pushing rather hard. I can’t help but wonder why this number is still operational; it raises serious concerns about the security protocols at BT, don’t you think?

I had to label this one as Dangerous because of the other reports I read here, which made me glad I'd already blocked the number. When they rang me, there was a weird long pause with silence and then some noises suggesting they were trying to connect, but really they just hung up. Fingers crossed they won’t manage to call my landline anymore. Also, big thanks to the person who mentioned they use a different number too - 01189 328585 - that one’s blocked now as well. I bet they’ll come back using yet another number soon enough.
