01485 600046 keeps ringing me with some automated message from "Shirley" claiming to be from the internet company. She says they've been trying to get hold of me and something about my IP being hacked from multiple countries, so they need to switch out my router and IP address. Then it tells me to press 1 to speak to a technician. Over the past few months, I've probably had around 30 calls like this. They still haven't cut my internet, which is a bit funny, but honestly, it feels pretty risky if you actually fell for it.

Didn't pick up 'cos I didn't recognise the number! They didn't leave a voicemail either. Honestly, hope these scammers find something better to do with their time soon.

Got a robo call from someone saying they're Shirley from my internet provider, threatening to disconnect my service if I don't ring them back. Seemed a bit dodgy to me.

Got a recorded call from someone named Shirley saying my internet's been hacked from a bunch of countries. It said I had to press 1 to speak to a tech or I'd lose service in 24 hours. I just ended the call. Feels like some folks might freak out and hit 1, which could be a total scam.

I had a very similar experience - I actually hit 1 thinking it was a tech support since it sounded so legit, like BT themselves were on the line. I'm pretty sure BT’s data must’ve been leaked cause this person knew way too much about me. I even asked for the caller’s info to verify it with BT and he gave me a name and an employee ID which made it really believable. It’s quite scary how easy it is to be fooled. Usually I’m super careful with these calls, but this one nearly tricked me completely. Definitely something I’ll be reporting.
