A chap with an Asian accent rang me up, insisting that my router had been compromised and he could help sort it all out. I played along for a bit, engaging him in small talk, but after a few minutes, I lost my patience and gave him a piece of my mind before hanging up. Not long after, he called back and unleashed a torrent of abuse at me.

Received a call at 9:21 this morning but decided against picking up, as I only tend to answer calls from numbers that I recognise by name. Did a bit of digging on your website and saw some reviews about this number. Relieved I chose not to respond! I've gone ahead and blocked it now.

When I picked up the phone, the caller abruptly hung up on me. Noticed from this discussion that this seems to have occurred multiple times. Perhaps it has something to do with the gender of those receiving the calls. Just to clarify, I identify as male.

I received a call from a woman with an Indian accent purporting to be from BT, saying someone was attempting to access our router. When I expressed that I found it difficult to understand her, she promptly terminated the call.

I answered the phone, and there was silence to begin with, then a woman with a heavy accent stumbled over my name, asking me to verify it. I decided to hang up, and upon checking my missed calls, I discovered a call from that very same number about an hour earlier. My caller ID indicated it was an international call — so just a heads up regarding that pesky 01485 code!

I suspect that the call from 01485210180 was a scam. They were purporting to be from BT, alleging that there was some dodgy activity involving our router. They inquired whether I had a PC or laptop, and when I replied negatively, they promptly ended the call. It all seemed rather fishy to me!
