Got a call from someone claiming to be a doctor from 111, but I never rang them, so it was definitely a mistaken number.

Got a call from this number but no message was left on my voicemail, which is really odd. Legit folks usually pop a voicemail if they want to chat. So this has got to be some sort of annoying scam or just some muppets trying their luck. Definitely not someone trustworthy!

Someone must be faking the NHS 111 callback number, I'm pretty sure. A few weeks back I did get legit calls from that number after calling 111 myself. But lately, there’ve been three missed calls from it at really strange times, like two right in the dead of night. One time, when I picked up, there was just a tiny voice leaving a voicemail saying ‘hello’ and nothing else. I’m not waiting on any follow-up about my original 111 enquiry, so it feels like someone else is pretending to be them with that number.

Just after I raised a complaint with my GP about no follow up on my positive covid result and my eligibility for antiviral meds, this number rang me. First thing I did was confirm who was calling and why, so I knew it was legit. Gave them my info and now I’m waiting ages - like 3-4 hours they said - for a GP to get back to me and check if I really need anything!!! This was supposed to be handled by my own GP anyway. This is part of the NHS’s callback setup. The doctor working the shift in this round-the-clock callback system will ring you when your spot comes up in the queue. It really shows how much the NHS has been let down over the years, considering it used to be top of its game worldwide. The number they use here only makes outgoing calls - you can’t ring it back.

My nurse from the local area said she rang the hospital or maybe 111 to arrange a medical injection I had to get but she never told me. I got a call saying they tried to ring me at 7pm but I didn't hear anything till around 12.44am, then they said it was the out of hours doctor from NHS111 I believe.

NHS was meant to ring me ages ago but some bloke just said there’s a hold up. Honestly, I’m done waiting and using some antibiotics I found from a while back. Honestly, just google your symptoms and the meds you should take, then ask mate’s or family if they’ve got any spare and take them. If you don’t, your condition could get worse and the NHS probably still won’t bother getting back to you.

I called 111 around half past midnight last night, and the operator assured me that a doctor would get in touch within two hours. Feeling rather poorly, I opted to take some paracetamol and retreat to bed. I eventually woke at 5:20 to the sound of the phone ringing; I naturally thought it was the anticipated call, but alas, they hung up before I could pick it up. I didn’t feel it was worth my while to call back, especially since I had lost my voice earlier and came to the conclusion that the whole system is rather ineffective. As for dialing 999, I had no intention of being whisked off to the emergency department! It seems we may just have to endure our ailments in silence.
