Got a call from a guy with an Indian accent saying he was calling from Huddersfield (though the line was fuzzy, so I reckon it was more likely Bombay) about some issue with Windows 10. I told him I don't even own a computer and wished him luck with whatever scam he was running. Then, half an hour later, the same number called again. I answered and reminded him he’d phoned just 30 minutes earlier, and asked how many people he’d managed to fool today.

Got a call from some Indian bloke saying he was from Windows support. Seemed to know loads about me, like my name and address. Proper cheeky too, kept accusing me of lying about not owning a computer (which I really dont). Ended up hanging up on me. He rang me at least 3 times today before I finally answered. Received a call with nothing but silence on the other end, yet it was quite handy to pinpoint who it was. I like to toy with them a bit, feeding them made-up info-it’s a laugh when I've got a spare moment, and at least while I'm chatting, they're not pestering someone who might not know better. We tend to get these calls in waves: a load of them for a bit, then blissful quiet for a few weeks. It’s quite amusing observing the contrasting reactions from blokes and lasses when the frustration sets in! Some of them could do with a good dose of calm!

I always look up strange numbers to see if others have flagged them before answering, but they never leave a message. Nearly fell for a scam like this about a year and a half ago, so not falling for it again. Why don’t the authorities do something about these annoying calls? They’re such a nuisance.

Received two calls today from a chap claiming to represent Microsoft, saying they'd detected a virus on my computer. Out of curiosity, I decided to humour him and boot up my machine, following all the misguided instructions he provided. The so-called ‘Mike’ became quite irate when I purposefully fluffed things up, and soon enough I was speaking to his supposed 'manager', a bloke named ‘John Wilson’. To my astonishment, it turned out they had personal details about me, including my name and address! Realising the gravity of the situation, I feigned outrage at their appalling customer service and abruptly ended the call. It was a rather chilling experience! From now on, I’ll be cutting the conversation short immediately. Just a word of advice to everyone: steer clear of them and hang up straight away.

This individual rang me a whopping eight times, insisting he wouldn't stop until I complied with his demands. Even after I warned him that I’d involve the police and followed that up with some threats of a more physical nature, he pressed on. It took an additional six calls wherein he was met with nothing but my voicemail before he finally threw in the towel. It baffles me why such folk feel entitled to take what isn’t theirs, and it’s infuriating that, despite having the number, there seems to be no way to track these nuisances down.

I received a rather quiet call a few days back, but today’s was quite the amusement. The chap on the line claimed to be John from Microsoft (definitely from a call centre abroad). He was adamant that his name was indeed John and even tried to convince me that it wasn’t a name commonly found in Britain. We had quite the tête-à-tête on that topic for a bit, but he eventually decided to end the call. It was rather unfortunate, as I was thoroughly enjoying our little banter!

In the space of just a week, I've received at least five calls from this number. Each time, it's a different individual - one was a woman, while the others were men. Some of them have been exceedingly pushy. I've made it abundantly clear that I'm aware it's a scam and that they are most definitely not representatives of Microsoft. I even 'requested' they refrain from ringing my number again, but to no avail - they're relentless! It’s clear there’s no proper system in place, as the calls keep coming. It’s baffling that this landline can’t be tracked down by the relevant authorities. For those who might not be tech-savvy or who are elderly and vulnerable, these odious scammers could inflict serious emotional and financial harm. It's absolutely disgraceful!

Had pretty much the same thing happen to me. A guy with a foreign accent called, said his name was "Austin Smith" and claimed to be from the Windows Support Team. He told me someone had hacked my computer and I needed to let him in to fix it. I told him I reckoned he was a scammer. Then, out of the blue, he rang me again a few days later trying the same nonsense. I've since reported him to the police via crime stoppers.

I received incessant calls from this number-six times in just a quarter of an hour! The caller was quite aggressive, stating that the bombardment wouldn't cease, to which I retorted that such behaviour constitutes harassment. He attempted to prolong the conversation, growing increasingly irate every time I hung up. When I pressed him for details about his identity or the origin of the call, he refused to divulge anything. I’m convinced this is a scam; they’re likely part of a coordinated group of fraudsters looking to gain access to personal information or even infiltrate your computer systems. Quite alarming, really!

Got 3 calls in 3 days: first was a tps scam asking for my credit card info, second just a silent call, and on 22/06/2017 another dodgy call came from "India" according to trading standards and stuff. These folks have rung me a whopping 44 times over the last few weeks, and I’ve not picked up once. I’ve just saved their number in my phone under “DO NOT PICK UP” instead of a name. So now, when they ring, my phone clearly says “DO NOT PICK UP” to remind me not to bother answering. If you don’t have a call blocker, maybe try this with your contacts list. Just remember, it only helps if your phone shows the caller ID.

I received a rather dubious phone call earlier, with the caller purporting to be from Windows. They insisted that my computer was harbouring several malicious programmes downloaded by hackers. To my astonishment, they were offering a complimentary service to rid my machine of these threats and requested that I access my computer to provide some details. Instinctively, I cut the call short, recognising it as a blatant scam. I strongly urge anyone who gets a call from this number to exercise caution.

They kept ringing me up saying there was a virus on my computer server and I had to give them info about it. I told them I already had an IT guy look it over and everything was fine. Then they started getting really aggressive, threatening to phone me again and again. They wouldn’t tell me anything about themselves or agree to take my details off their list.

This well known "Microsoft" scam has called my landline a bunch of times before. Today they dialled me 4 times all in a row. The bloke on the phone sounded Indian and there was loads of noise in the background with lots of people chatting. It was hard to catch what he was saying and he kept pushing me to listen and switch my computer on. It didn’t matter when I told him I knew it was a scam and to stop calling me. He just kept ringing back, which felt really annoying. When I called 1471 it said the last number that phoned me was 01484863114.

I've received three calls from this number in the span of roughly 35 minutes. Each time I answered, however, all I got was silence on the other end. I was trying to catch a bit of shuteye since I'm disabled and really needed some rest. What a bother!

Got a call from this number and they sounded so legit, claiming to be from Microsoft and offering to fix a virus on my PC. I said no way was I handing over my laptop. They even threatened to shut my computer down. I ended the call, but 2 mins later they called again! This time I said I use a MacBook and they just said sorry for disturbing me and hung up!!!

I've been disturbed by this phone number for three consecutive mornings now. The calls come in bright and early, which is rather inconsiderate, to say the least! I'm quite perplexed that they somehow got hold of my landline number, as I’ve only shared it with a select few family members. It's infuriating that I can't block calls on my landline, and it's genuinely unsettling. I thought being registered with the Telephone Preference Service would offer some peace. This situation surely warrants a closer look... Being disabled makes these early wake-up calls all the more uncomfortable for me...

Picked up the call around the morning of 1 June 2017 but nobody spoke. Did a bit of digging online and found out it’s some kind of scam. They often claim to be from Windows, but when I tell them I’ve got double glazing or quiz if they’re from Everest, they just go quiet!

This number rang me at 1:10pm today. I’m not used to getting calls around this time, so I just let it ring through to voicemail - no message was left though. I used 1471 to check the number and then looked it up online, found loads of comments about it. At least they’re not hiding who they are, so maybe they’re legit after all? Some bloke called sayin my computer was acting up, I just played along like I was followin his instructions, sayin I turned it on and pressed random buttons. Then I said I got a message on the screen, he asked what it said so I told him it read "Go away you scammers." He hung up straight away and I haven’t heard a peep since.

Earlier today, we had a rather dubious call from a man speaking in an Indian accent, claiming there were issues with our computer. My husband, wise to the game, simply thanked him and hung up, recalling how a friend of ours fell victim to similar trickery. We’ve since blocked the number. I've had an absolute nightmare with this number today, being called a staggering six times! I've tried to be civil and requested that they take me off their list, but it seems to have made no difference whatsoever. I even mentioned that I'm registered with the Telephone Preference Service, but that clearly doesn't mean a thing. This bloke claimed he was from Windows IT, but when I told him it sounded like a scam, he started spouting my name and address and said he was gonna disable all the registration links on my PC. No idea how he got my details. I just ended the call straight away.
