Got a call from a guy with an Indian accent saying he was calling from Huddersfield (though the line was fuzzy, so I reckon it was more likely Bombay) about some issue with Windows 10. I told him I don't even own a computer and wished him luck with whatever scam he was running. Then, half an hour later, the same number called again. I answered and reminded him he’d phoned just 30 minutes earlier, and asked how many people he’d managed to fool today.

Some bloke called saying my computer was involved in some sort of international cybercrime. I told him to go ahead and wait for the cops to show up because I wasn’t falling for it. But honestly, they were dead persistent and sorta crafty. I figured I knew all the tricks, but a tiny bit of me still wondered if he could be right… just a sneaky little doubt, you know?

Got a call that was totally quiet, but at least it helped me figure out who was dialing. I like to mess with ’em a bit, giving made-up info just for kicks. It’s a bit of entertainment when I’m free, plus while they’re chatting to me, they’re not bothering others who might not be so savvy. We get bursts of these calls now and then, then it calms down for a while. Funny how men and women react so differently when they get annoyed - way too much rage on the bloke side!

They called me twice today claiming to be from Microsoft, saying my PC was infected. Just for fun, I played along and followed their instructions but deliberately did everything wrong. The bloke, who called himself Mike, got pretty annoyed, so I acted like I was really pissed off with his poor attitude. Then he passed me over to his 'manager' named 'John Wilson.' While messing around, I was shocked to find out they had my full name, address, and other personal info. That’s when I decided to end the call. I made out I was furious about being treated like that and told them I wouldn’t be talking to them again before hanging up. Honestly, it was pretty creepy! Next time, I’m just going to hang up straight away. Be careful, don’t waste your time chatting with these people.

This bloke rang me about 8 times, insisting he'd keep going till I did what he wanted. I told him I'd call the cops and even warned him about sorting it out myself if he kept it up. Still, he didn't stop. It was only after I ignored him six more times to voicemail that he finally gave in. It's mad how these people try to nick what's ours, and even with their number, they seem impossible to track down.

Got a silent call a few days back but today’s was a bit more entertaining. The guy claimed he was John from Microsoft, though you could tell it was some dodgy overseas call centre. He kept insisting his name was definitely John and even argued with me that John isn’t a typical British name! We went back and forth for a good few minutes before he finally gave up and hung up. Over the past week, I've had at least five calls, each from a different person - one woman, the rest blokes. Some were really pushy. I made it clear to them, quite firmly, that I know it's a scam and they're NOT from Microsoft, and asked them to stop ringing me. But the calls just keep coming. With so many people calling from this number, I doubt there's any proper system behind it. They clearly couldn’t care less. I’d imagine the authorities could track this landline, surely? It’s horrible to think about how much harm these sleazy callers might do, especially to older or less tech-savvy folk. Properly shameful behaviour.

Had pretty much the same thing happen to me. A guy with a foreign accent called, said his name was "Austin Smith" and claimed to be from the Windows Support Team. He told me someone had hacked my computer and I needed to let him in to fix it. I told him I reckoned he was a scammer. Then, out of the blue, he rang me again a few days later trying the same nonsense. I've since reported him to the police via crime stoppers.

I got a call from this number about six times within just a quarter of an hour. The person on the other end kept saying the calls wouldn’t stop, and I told him that what he was doing felt like harassment. He tried to keep me talking for as long as possible but got really annoyed everytime I hung up. When I asked who he was or where he was calling from, he refused to say. I’m pretty sure this is some kind of scam, likely run by a group of fraudsters trying to get info or access to your computer.

Got 3 calls in 3 days: first was a tps scam asking for my credit card info, second just a silent call, and on 22/06/2017 another dodgy call came from "India" according to trading standards and stuff. These folks have rung me a whopping 44 times over the last few weeks, and I’ve not picked up once. I’ve just saved their number in my phone under “DO NOT PICK UP” instead of a name. So now, when they ring, my phone clearly says “DO NOT PICK UP” to remind me not to bother answering. If you don’t have a call blocker, maybe try this with your contacts list. Just remember, it only helps if your phone shows the caller ID.

Got a call from someone saying they're with Windows, telling me my PC's infected with some dodgy software installed by hackers. They said they'd get rid of it for free and wanted me to type in some details on my computer. I wasn’t having any of it and just ended the call straight away. Honestly, if you get a ring from this number, just be really careful - it’s almost certainly a scam.

This number has called me a few times over the last couple of days but just ends up dropping the call. It’s really annoying when you’re busy trying to sort stuff out.

They kept ringing me up saying there was a virus on my computer server and I had to give them info about it. I told them I already had an IT guy look it over and everything was fine. Then they started getting really aggressive, threatening to phone me again and again. They wouldn’t tell me anything about themselves or agree to take my details off their list.

This well known "Microsoft" scam has called my landline a bunch of times before. Today they dialled me 4 times all in a row. The bloke on the phone sounded Indian and there was loads of noise in the background with lots of people chatting. It was hard to catch what he was saying and he kept pushing me to listen and switch my computer on. It didn’t matter when I told him I knew it was a scam and to stop calling me. He just kept ringing back, which felt really annoying. When I called 1471 it said the last number that phoned me was 01484863114.

This number has rung me a few times within half an hour, about three calls I think. But whenever I answer, it's completely silent on the other end. I was just trying to get some rest since I'm disabled and fancied a quick nap.

Got a call from this number and they sounded so legit, claiming to be from Microsoft and offering to fix a virus on my PC. I said no way was I handing over my laptop. They even threatened to shut my computer down. I ended the call, but 2 mins later they called again! This time I said I use a MacBook and they just said sorry for disturbing me and hung up!!!

For the past three mornings, this number has been bugging me right at dawn. They ring way too early, which is just not cool! I’m not sure how they got my landline, since I’ve only ever shared it with close family. Blocking calls on my landline isn’t an option, so it’s really frustrating. I’m already on the telephone preference service list. Honestly, this number deserves a proper check. I’m disabled and getting jolted awake like this only makes things worse for me...

I got a call from this number earlier. When I picked up, it went straight to voicemail, but they never left any message.

Answered and got nothing but heavy breathing, like they were trying to make it sound spooky or something. It went on for nearly a minute, clearly on purpose.

Picked up the call around the morning of 1 June 2017 but nobody spoke. Did a bit of digging online and found out it’s some kind of scam. They often claim to be from Windows, but when I tell them I’ve got double glazing or quiz if they’re from Everest, they just go quiet!

This number rang me at 1:10pm today. I’m not used to getting calls around this time, so I just let it ring through to voicemail - no message was left though. I used 1471 to check the number and then looked it up online, found loads of comments about it. At least they’re not hiding who they are, so maybe they’re legit after all? Just leaving this here as a note about another call from them.

I have motor neurone disease and these callers keep ringing me all the time. I've explained to them that it causes me difficulties, but on a few occasions, they've just told me to f--- off.

Some bloke called sayin my computer was acting up, I just played along like I was followin his instructions, sayin I turned it on and pressed random buttons. Then I said I got a message on the screen, he asked what it said so I told him it read "Go away you scammers." He hung up straight away and I haven’t heard a peep since.

My phone just rang but I didn’t pick up cos I didn’t know the number. When I looked later, it had rung 5 times while I was out. Proper annoying how they keep going. I’ve now put this number on my block list. Watch out, these calls are a right pain.

Today, we got a call from a man with an Indian accent claiming there was a problem with our computer. My husband just said thanks and hung up right away since one of our mates fell for the same trick before. We've blocked the number now. Really appreciate this site, it's been a big help!

Some bloke claimed he was from Microsoft Tech Support or something. Loads of rubbish about helping me. I told him to sort himself out and stop bothering me. Pretty sure they’re using some auto dial thing ‘cos I’ve had like 3 calls in under 6 hours.

I tried to ask them where they got my number from (i’m signed up to TPS) and they claimed they’d hacked into my computer and took it from there! I hung up straight away and reported them through the ICO site - would definitely advise others to do the same.

I really hope whoever runs this site passes all the info on to the right people who deal with this kind of thing; I’m not even sure who’s in charge these days. They’re so rude, swear loads, and don’t tell the truth at all. Since I live in 01484, it really winds me up even more.

I told him straight away that I wasn't falling for any scam, then he threatened to block my computer from Windows. Oddly enough, he had my name and address spot on. The second call was just dead silence.

Got a call from some bloke with an Asian accent saying he was from Microsoft! I asked if he wanted to fix my computer, and he said yes. So I switched to speaking Welsh, throwing in a few rude phrases. Weirdly, he just hung up on me!!!

This number has rang me SIX separate times just today. Each time, I’ve kindly asked to be taken off their dialling list but no luck so far. Even told them I’m registered with the Telephone Preference Service, which clearly means nothing to them. Yesterday, my husband lost his patience and told them to stop calling, and the person on the other end rudely told him to “F Off!” I don’t know what more we can do. We’re so fed up with these calls.

Got a call from a bloke claiming to be with the Windows support team, asking how many computers we’ve got at home. He was Indian, sounded a bit dodgy. When I said I’d ring him back, he gave me another number 02036300833 to contact. I didn’t bother calling them though, felt something was off.

01484863114 keeps ringing me non-stop - sometimes no one speaks, other times they say the same spiel loads of others have mentioned here. I’m on the TPS list but still getting these calls on my home phone. If this number’s public, why hasn’t it been shut down yet, looks so dodgy to me? Would really like to know where I should lodge a complaint about it. Doubt the police would bother with this though.

This bloke claimed he was from Windows IT, but when I told him it sounded like a scam, he started spouting my name and address and said he was gonna disable all the registration links on my PC. No idea how he got my details. I just ended the call straight away.

Once again, some guy said he's from the Windows IT team called me and got really rude when I called him a scammer, calling me thick or something. I just laughed and told him I was recording the call for the bobbies, and then he quickly just cut off the call!!
