They asked for my name, said it back to me, then just cut the call. Feels like they were just collecting info.

Picked up the phone but no one spoke, just silence. I reckon it’s some kind of automated thing trying to see if the number’s active before selling it to call centres pushing stuff like PPI claims, insurance and all sorts of scams. It’s high time that phone companies start spotting these calls and block them out. We manage to filter out rubbish emails and spam online, so why aren’t phones any different?

Picked up the phone but no one answered back, just a pointless call really.

I got a call from some energy company wanting to come over and check our doors and windows for an energy report. I kept the caller talking for a while, then mentioned that the place is actually a holiday caravan, not a proper house. Right after that, they just cut the call. Sounds like a classic energy scam to me.
