So this bloke Dave, a joiner or something, popped by my place about five years back claiming to be local. He came knocking to chat about some work he thought I needed done, even though I'd already sorted it. He had my address and even knew my name, which was a bit creepy. I told him I was tied up and he just left it at that, so I never found out what the scam was all about. Seeing the other comments here is a relief, cause getting calls from someone who pretends they know so much about you can really unsettle you.

A few years back, a chap called Dave who’s a joiner was setting up shop near us and got in touch with my husband about re-rendering our place. We weren’t interested at all and never mentioned any plans to get it done. I reckon one of those map apps has a lot to answer for since our house clearly needs some work on the outside, as you can easily see there. Same goes for that person who said the caller mentioned having a silver car - assuming that’s even right.

Then he mentioned he’s starting a factory nearby and said he’d be sending some stuff in the post. Bit strange really!

Got a strange ring earlier from a bloke with a thick Yorkshire lilt, sounded a bit drunk if I’m honest.
