I've received a notice about debt recovery supposedly on behalf of HMRC.

I received a rather eloquent call from a gentleman who sounded quite official, yet he insisted that I verify some personal information before he would divulge the purpose of the call. When I pressed for details about the organisation, all he would reveal was that he was representing LCS. After a bit of back and forth, it finally emerged that they are involved in debt recovery. I mentioned that I have no outstanding debts. Nevertheless, he remained tight-lipped about the specifics of the alleged debt and wouldn’t share the type of questions he was planning to ask until I confirmed my personal info. He also would not disclose what address they had on file for me. Eventually, I decided enough was enough and hung up. It felt like a classic scam attempt!
