I’ve recently found myself in quite a similar predicament with a caller who had a rather foreign accent, despite ringing from what appeared to be a local number after I dialled 1471. Upon probing him about who he was, he insisted he was representing BT and that he could enhance my sluggish internet connection. Surprisingly, he prompted me to download some software from this peculiar site: https://myopenreach.yolasite.com. I politely refused to comply!
