Been getting constant calls from some debt collectors about a person who apparently lives here, but I’ve never even heard of them and don’t owe any money. They keep saying they’ll take my number off their list but never actually do. How can I make them stop bothering me?

3577500 Capquest Debt collectors have been ringing my landline for over ten years now, trying to get hold of someone who, to my knowledge, has never lived here. Sometimes I’m polite and tell them the mistake, other times I’m blunt and just say “LEAVE ME ALONE”. They always say they’ll take my number off their list, but they never do! Proper liars. This week alone, I spent 36 hours in hospital for heart treatment, and either side of that, I got three calls from those Capquest idiots. Honestly, I hope they never track down whoever they’re after.

Today, though, a girl with a Scottish accent properly said my name on the voicemail, then kept saying “hello, hello” like she didn’t notice it was going to voicemail. Was waiting for an important call so picked up the phone around 8pm. About half an hour after answering, there was silence for a while, then a guy spoke and asked for someone I'd never heard of. He then said sorry and hung up. It's the same number that called me before and left loads of voicemail messages with quick, mumbling bits I couldn’t make out.
