Just a heads up, there’s a scam going around right now about car finance and PCP deals. Been hearing about it a lot lately, and it’s still happening as of 25/03/2026. Watch out and don’t get caught up in it!

Got a call from some PCP scam, yeah told ‘em to shove it and bloody scammers the lot of them!

Got a call yesterday from someone chatting about a car purchase I never made, seemed like one of those PCP scams or something. Really strange, coz I’ve never even looked at that car model before! Felt like they were trying to reel me into some dodgy deal. Just glad I caught on quick and didn’t give them any info. Watch out folks, these scammers are getting sneaky with fake car stuff.

Got a call saying I was due a refund for a car I'd bought. I gave them the right registration number, but it turns out it was a motability car, so I never actually bought it.

The number seemed legit since I’m actually working with a Guildford company, but then all I got was silence. Strange!

I got a call from someone with a Chinese accent trying to talk in English about some PCP scam, saying I owed them £900. Then, weirdly, they mentioned my car’s registration number, even though I’ve owned the car outright for like three years now. Definitely sounded like a dodgy scam to me.

Got a call asking about a car I’ve never had, sounded like some sort of dodgy PCP scam to me. Anyone else had this happen? Feels fishy, like they’re trying to get info for something shady.

Funny thing, I was online when these muppets rang my phone! Honestly, never pick up if you don’t know the number. My phone’s on the TPS list, but somehow these idiots still manage to get hold of it. It’s obvious when you hand over your number to places like Virgin Media, the RAC, or some call centre, they end up passing it on. Then bam, a few days later you get these annoying scam calls nonstop. It’s mad that the law or the phone companies don’t do anything about it, they should really be held responsible for this mess.

I received a rather dodgy phone call the other day, supposedly from EE, claiming they could grant me a 40% discount. I was instantly sceptical but decided to keep the conversation going for a bit of amusement. They began asking me for basic information that EE would already possess. The chap on the line had a very noticeable accent-likely Indian. Sensing my disinterest, he suddenly decided to introduce himself as "Mark," which nearly made me chuckle; there’s just no way someone with that accent would go by that name! He then requested my email address and app password. At that point, I’d had enough and swiftly hung up, blocking the number. Be wary, everyone! If your mobile provider reaches out, they'll already have all your personal details and should never need to ask for sensitive information like that.

Got a call from someone saying they were with EE, trying to sell me some "amazing" deal with a cheaper bill and throwing in an iPhone watch. They wanted £50 just to activate it. I told them no and ended the call. They rang me back like four times after that before I warned them I’d report and block their number.

I’m pretty sure I had a chat with the same bloke someone else mentioned here - a guy called 'Mike' who sounded like he was from India or Pakistan. He was trying to get me to accept some 45% off deal on my EE contract and kept pestering me to say how much my last bill was. Definitely felt dodgy, so I've just gone ahead and blocked the number.

I just got a call from someone saying they were "Mark/Mike Lee" pushing a 45% discount on EE. They claimed I’m a loyal customer or something. The caller wanted me to hang about on the line while they sent a link to my email to sort out the discount, but obviously, no link ever arrived. Sounds like a total scam - the info they used didn’t line up with real EE details at all. Please, don’t share any passwords, bank info, or click any links if you get a call like this!

I got a call from someone saying they were from EE, trying to give me a 45% discount or something. They asked what my bill was last month, and I told them I didn’t really know (even though I actually do), and suggested they should have that info with them. They pretended like they did but then gave me a totally off number. Sounds like a proper scam to me.

I received a call from a chap who sounded Indian while I was on the road, hands-free, of course. I could have sworn he claimed to be from EE. I informed him that I was unable to chat as I was driving, then abruptly ended the call as I couldn't quite catch what he was saying. Upon later investigation, the number was linked to something called "Manuel's Italian and Mediterranean..." - baffling, to say the least! The second call was from a Guildford number, which I opted to ignore, and they didn’t leave a voice mail. I'm rather glad I looked it up on this site. I've gone ahead and blocked both numbers. It's been about four years since I last dealt with EE, so I definitely have my reservations about them!
