Got a call from some Council Housing Disrepair group, pretty sure they were pushing us to file claims about problems on council homes. The odd thing is, we actually own our house. What really bugged me was that they knew my full name, and our phone is registered with the Telephone Preference Service, so they really shouldn’t be ringing us at all! Doesn’t seem like an outright scam, but definitely an annoying call from some claims outfit trying to chase money.

I reckon this is a total scam. They kept ringing me, so I picked up just to see who it was. The caller said they were from a company called UK something, supposedly working for the government. The weird part is, the number showed a Guildford code but they said they were from Manchester. They started asking if I had mould in the house which sounded dodgy, so I just ended the call. Feels like one of those long-running scams that’s swapped their number from London codes over to Guilford and maybe other places too.
