Yeah it is a real EE number, the woman who rang me was really patient and took her time to explain why they were calling and asked some security questions. She also told me which page on the EE site to look at to verify it was legit (which I did!). They have a Call Checker list there. The call comes from a place called Clear Answer call centre.

This number calls me every single day, it’s so irritating! They try to get my personal info but there’s no way I’m giving it out, so just buzz off!

It was EE calling, asking about renewing my contract though it's not due for another couple of months. Sorted it out with almost the same conditions, all good.

No doubt, it’s EE ringing me! I was in the middle of work when they phoned - totally not a good time! My contract isn’t actually up for renewal for another couple months. I tried to tell the lady that, but she was pushing to get it done right away. I quickly said sorry and ended the call. They’ve called 7 more times just today! I’ve blocked them all, lol.

Please feel free to keep ringing, but I won’t be picking up! Also, just to clarify, I don’t have an account with any service like that.

From what I've read in other comments, it sounds like it might be EE. I had clicked on a deal online just to check out what they have atm. When I got the call, my number came up as 'unknown', but they had my address on display. Pretty sure it's EE then. I ignored the call and they didn't leave any voicemail. I've blocked the number now.

Absolutely infuriating! The phone keeps ringing and by the time I reach for it, the call's gone. No voicemails either, which is just cheeky. I've had enough of this nonsense and have now added the number to my blocked list.

I reached out to EE to clarify things, and it turns out that the call came from a third-party firm linked to them. I must admit, I was quite taken aback that EE permits them to request sensitive account details without giving customers a heads-up beforehand. The nature of the call resembled the tactics employed by scammers I’ve encountered in the past. Yet, in this instance, they are indeed legitimate. Who’s to say where the information might end up, but at least EE assured me that they’ve made a note on my record indicating my refusal to engage with them. I suppose that offers a certain level of reassurance.

No idea who they are, but they come across as really rude and annoying. I just don’t pick up.

After looking up broadband and phone offers, I put in my postcode and number on a site for a quote. Suddenly, this number kept ringing me. Turns out, once you enter your details and don’t go for their deal, they call non stop. Pretty clear this is EE’s way of hunting down possible customers. I’d say don’t pick up unless you’re actually interested in a phone or broadband deal.

They ring around the same time every day, same days week after week, but don’t leave any voicemail. Looking at the other comments here, I reckon it’s probably EE since I just tried switching my internet provider recently.

Hello! Your comment about thinking it was a scam had me quite anxious. Just yesterday, I received a call from the EE renewal and upgrade team on 01482971048, and I decided to sign up for a new 18-month contract. They did ask for my security answer, which made me a bit jumpy. After reading the posts here, I went ahead and contacted EE directly on their customer service line (150) from my mobile to clarify the situation. They reassured me that it was indeed a legitimate call and that everything is perfectly fine. My new contract will be kicking in on the 26th of September. So, for anyone else feeling concerned like I was, there’s really no need to fret!

Ever since I entered into an agreement with EE, my mobile has been bombarded with calls from unfamiliar numbers. I switched my number over from Orange to EE, and soon after, the unsolicited calls began. To top it off, I had to provide EE with my home phone number today, and wouldn’t you know it, I've already received two calls from that very number this evening. It really does seem like EE might be the source, inadvertently letting these callers get hold of our details.

To my surprise, the caller retorted rather rudely, “How can you be so sure?” I explained that I was the sole adult present in the house that day, looking after a little one, so I felt compelled to tell him to shove off! Hello there,
I just picked up a call from the number 01482 971048. The caller identified themselves as being from EE and wanted to verify some of my personal details. I'm a bit sceptical about whether this number is genuinely linked to EE. I mentioned that I’d rather sort any issues through their website instead of discussing sensitive information over the phone. I’m really not keen on unsolicited calls for that kind of stuff.

I've had a rather puzzling experience with a female caller who seemed to know my name and asked me to verify a couple of characters from an ancient password of mine. She claimed she needed to update my Direct Debit information since my previous details had been wiped. Given that I recently switched banks and there were some hiccups with EE during the transfer-specifically, my old account being deleted without the new one being set up-it could be a genuine issue. However, there's absolutely no chance I'll be handing over my banking information to a stranger without proper verification! She did provide a callback number, but I’ll be ringing the standard EE customer service line instead.

This number has been a nuisance, ringing me four times without so much as a message, just a load of background noise. I've finally decided to put an end to it and added it to my auto-reject list. Caller ID: 01482 971048.

Got a call on my landline, the person said they were from ‘EE’. They asked for the 1st and 5th letters of my password, I just guessed two letters and they said it was right !?! I’ve only had this number and account since Dec 1st 2015, but they claimed my account expired in April 2015 and was up for renewal. Then they put me on hold to talk to their ‘manager’ for less than 10 seconds and gave me EE customer support number, saying she couldn’t connect me because of a system fault. Total nonsense! Definitely NOT EE!

I received a call from someone claiming to be from EE, who wanted to discuss my service plan. I explained that I was rather preoccupied at the moment and requested that he shoot over his queries to my EE email instead.

Indeed, I have a hunch that my number has been swiped from some information I provided on various websites while on the hunt for the most competitive phone and broadband offers... silly me!

I’ve been receiving numerous calls from this number-around five or six daily-and it’s becoming utterly tiresome. I've gone ahead and blocked the number. I’m currently with EE for my mobile and broadband services, but if these incessant calls stem from them, I’ll certainly consider switching providers.

They called about 5pm claiming to be from EE, but when I asked for some proof, they just said they had to check on their computer. Bit of an odd caller, so I just ended the call.

I’ve been inundated with calls from this number every single day; it’s becoming rather tiresome, to be honest! I’ve chosen not to pick up, but the relentless ringing is quite bothersome!

They claimed to be EE and wanted loads of personal info. Feels like it could be an identity scam.

Whenever I pick up, all I hear is faint chatting in the background, then it just keeps on ringing for no clear reason. I’ve got no one I know from Hull, so I’m stumped.

This evening, I found myself receiving an unexpected phone call from this number, claiming to be from EE and asking to verify my account details. I made it clear that I would prefer they send an email to the actual account holder instead of making such unsolicited calls. I have no intention of doing business with any telecom provider that resorts to such dubious tactics.

I've had a couple of calls from this number on separate occasions. One time, it was nothing but static in the background, and the other was marked as a missed call, but they didn't bother leaving a voicemail. Caller ID shows 01482971048. Quite odd, really!

Thinking about all the annoying phone calls I’ve dealt with, they rang me just a few days ago as well. (Had just as many calls from no numbers - seriously, what’s being done about these pests?)

I've been receiving calls from a number that’s with-held, and it seems to ring every time I’m trying to enjoy my dinner in the evening. If this is some sort of leak from EE, then you can bet I’ll be switching providers in a heartbeat!
