I got a ring from this number (01482 820077), which is from around Hull. A woman on the line claimed to represent Amazon and mentioned something about a charge of £42.99 that had been processed in my name, asking if I wished to proceed with the payment. I definitely haven’t authorised any payment to Amazon, so I just laughed it off and hung up. It feels like a new sort of scam to me-most of these things are pre-recorded messages, but this one was a real person. Quite dodgy, if you ask me. Cheers, K Kennington.
