I let the call go to my caller ID blocker and hung up straight away. The number said it was from Hull, but I reckon it’s just a fake number being used by some call centre abroad. I’ve put the number on my block list now, but I’m sure they’ll use another one and try again before long.

Got a call from an Asian bloke who knew my name and where I live, asking me to verify my details. I refused to say anything. When I asked which company he was with, he just kept repeating his question over and over. I ended up calling him a d###head and ended the call. I had a rather peculiar experience recently. A number starting with 080000 called me and, after a brief ring, simply disconnected. Oddly enough, the very next day, I received a phone call from the same lot who asked if they were speaking to me. When I confirmed it was indeed me, they promptly hung up. To make matters even stranger, today I received an email from Netflix informing me that my account had been accessed from California! What a coincidence, eh?

Got a call from an Indian bloke who wanted to know if I was the missus or girlfriend of the owner of the house. I asked him why he was even asking that, and then out of nowhere, he said he loved me. Got a call from a guy who sounded Asian. Before he could say anything, I cut him off and told him he wasn’t allowed to call me and that his call was against the law, then just hung up. I used BT’s "Call Protect" service to block the number afterwards. Just so you know, BT now offer "Call Protect" completely free! After a dodgy call, you just hang up and ring their "Call Protect" line to add that number to your own block list. Makes dealing with these annoying calls way easier!

This number rings me every day, nearly always staying silent or not leaving a voicemail. One time, some Asian guy asked for me but butchered my name so badly I could tell it was from some overseas call centre. I told him I wasn’t interested, but he kept pushing, so I had to firmly say no thanks and hang up. Then, less than a minute later, he called back and I let my answerphone pick it up. What he said was just a long, confused rant in his language, finishing with him shouting "NO THANK YOU, F##K YOU." Quite pleasant, huh? I’ve gone ahead and blocked it now.
