Been getting calls every 30 minutes, proper annoying. Picked up once and had a daft conversation with someone, then just hung up. After that, I decided to just let the calls ring out without answering.

Had a call from someone with a really thick foreign accent, kept saying they were updating some sort of nuisance call list. When I tried to find out where he was calling me from, he then wanted my full name. I just gave him my first name, but he obviously didn't get it. Then he asked if the phone belonged to a Susan or something. At that point, I just cut the call.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from the TPS but their English was awful and they had a strong foreign accent. They somehow already knew my name, address and other stuff. Then they asked me for the expiry date on my card. I told them I never gave card details since signing up to TPS is free. As soon as I said that, they just ended the call straight away.

Some bloke rang me up with a funny accent, saying he worked for BT Telephone Preference Service and was gonna stop all cold calls starting tomorrow. At first, I gave him my name and address, which he then repeated back to me. But things got dodgy when he asked for my debit card expiry date - that’s when I knew something wasn’t right. I stayed silent and asked him why I'd be getting a cold call about blocking cold calls in the first place. He just ignored the question and said his name was David Williams, with some ID like BT123568. I hung up straight away. After that, I got loads of calls back to back from numbers showing as Out of Area or 028757300 on my phone. Pretty clear they were all from the same scammer. Definitely a con.

A lady rang up and kept asking for my missus, which seems to be the usual story. Her English was really poor. She claimed to be from the Telephone Preference Service checking on nuisance calls, but I just asked why she was making a call herself, then ended the call.

I usually pick up and put my hand over the mouthpiece, if there’s nobody talking I just hang up. Loads of people ring saying my computer’s broken or something, but honestly, does BT have service so rubbish you can’t understand a word? I find that really hard to believe!
