Got a call from Essex police doing a quick survey about how they handled the theft of my car last December. Fair play to them, they were really helpful throughout the whole situation, so I was happy to leave some good feedback.

Being in a country riddled with scam calls, it’s hard for anyone to trust phone numbers anymore. Why can’t the government send out some kind of official forms or questionnaires to prove the calls are legit? With all the budget cuts and lack of funding, law enforcement can’t keep up with these crimes, so the public ends up having to police themselves. Sometimes the evidence we gather isn’t strong enough to be used in court, and on top of that there’s corruption and bribes which just makes things worse. It’s about time there’s a real proper investigation into this mess.

Got a survey from Lancashire police and crime commissioner asking if I'd be willing to pay extra council tax for more police presence. Problem is, I hardly ever see any cops around, so why would I fork out more? Feels like they're fishing to see if we're okay with paying up so they can put more officers on the streets. Honestly, ditch the whole commissioner role and save some cash instead.

I got a call from a girl, think her name was Reese or something similar. It was a survey about how happy I was with the Avon police. They were just asking about my experience with the police after I reported a matter to them.

I got a phone call from someone claiming to be doing a police survey. I asked them to ring me back the following day so I could double check with my local police if it was legit. They said the survey was actually run by the police to help improve their service. True to their word, I got a call the next day at the time I asked for. I spoke with a friendly bloke named Tom who asked me all the questions. It’s a bit sad you can’t just take people’s word nowadays, but I was glad to take part and share my thoughts. FYI, the company’s called SMSR and they’re based in Hull, Yorkshire.

I got a call, picked up and they just dropped the line straight away? Seems like timewasters, maybe those surveys supposedly run by the local cops like people mentioned before.

24/11/2017 "This number keeps ringing my phone, no clue who it is or why they keep calling, or how they even got my number in the first place." So I finally picked up and the person explained who they were and what they wanted. I then asked them where they got my number from. It was the police! I actually gave them my number myself, haha. They just wanted to check if I was satisfied with the service they gave me.
