this morning I got an automated call telling me my credit card was charged twice, once for some international transfer and the other for amazon. I highly doubt my card company would send a recorded message like that, so I think it's one of those scams.

Got a call around quarter past twelve. These sorts of calls usually come from the Indian division of BT or something along those lines, so I just ignore them now. They rang a couple of times and then gave up without leaving any message. I did try calling back just to be sure it wasn’t something important (I have a spare phone that’s almost always switched off and I never pick up). When I called, it just said “you’ve dialled an incorrect number”. Both my landline and mobile are on the TPS list, but it doesn’t seem to make any difference with these persistent calls.
