Got a call from these idiots on our landline today and, just like always, they hung up as soon as the answerphone picked up. It’s obvious their systems just blast out calls to loads of numbers all at once. Unfortunately, I can’t block their number just yet, so I’ve changed the phone to pick up after only two rings. I’m hoping it’s a pain for them since the answerphone answers so quickly - maybe they’ll end up blocking our number themselves!

What struck me as odd was that they even knew our names! The call came from a local number, which made it sound all the more convincing. I informed them that our boiler was perfectly operational and had undergone a recent inspection. They then resorted to a bit of fearmongering regarding legal issues and potential safety hazards, persistently probing about the boiler’s age. I firmly explained that I was occupied and that I’m registered with the Telephone Preference Service, so I really shouldn’t be receiving calls of this nature. They mentioned they would update their records accordingly. Although the caller was quite courteous and not overly aggressive, they were still infringing upon TPS regulations.
