I got a call from a Vodafone number, and since I recently dealt with them, I picked up. But as soon as I said something, the line just dropped and went dead.

Looks like Vodafone is still using this number for their Social Tariff questions.

Since I’m not a Vodafone customer, I’m sure it’s just spam.

Got a text from Vodafone saying I'd missed a call, but when I looked at my phone, no calls listed at all. Seems like they just send these messages automatically, probably to save time instead of actually calling for real. Kind of clever, actually - if you ring them back, it cuts their costs too. Bit cheeky if you ask me.

The Vodafone broadband social tariff team is really behind right now, it’s taking over two weeks for them to get back to you instead of the one week they mention.

For a while now, this number keeps ringing but only for about 8 seconds before cutting off, and there’s no one on the line. It's pretty annoying, so I’m seriously considering just blocking them altogether.

They called me but then the line just dropped. After checking the reviews here, looks like it’s Vodafone, which makes sense since I did sign up for their social tariff. So, seems alright to me.

I signed up for Vodafone's social tariff, they said someone would get back to me in about 5 working days. But apparently, there's a backlog at the moment so it’s taking closer to two weeks. Bit frustrating but I guess they’re just swamped right now.

I phoned them back after checking this site. It was for a real Vodafone social tariff renewal, totally safe. No scam or annoying sales call at all.

It was a callback about the Vodafone social tariff. Since I am deaf, I can’t pick up calls, which I made clear both online and when visiting the store. Despite that, they kept ringing me. Every time I missed the call, I had to submit my application again, and that happened three times. They insisted that calling was the only way to sign up for the Vodafone social tariff. Eventually, I gave up and switched to BT’s social tariff. It’s a bit pricier, but at least they recognise people who are deaf.

It seems that Vodafone's social broadband is taking ages-up to a fortnight just to return a call! You can check it out here:

In stark contrast, BT offers a similar deal with a mere two minutes needed for an online assessment:

They claimed to be representatives from Vodafone. At that time, I was in the midst of switching my internet provider, so I assumed the call was genuine. However, she began requesting my bank details, which immediately raised a red flag. The line was filled with a cacophony of background noise, reminiscent of a busy train station or underground. I pointed out that typically firms would instruct you to enter your sort code on your device and then ask for your account info in the same manner. She insisted that wasn't their practice and insisted I read my details out loud over the phone. I feigned ignorance, stating that I couldn’t locate my information and that I would need to ring them back. Naturally, I never did; I simply blocked the number instead!

The number shows Kingston upon Thames, but then they just stay quiet when I pick up! Honestly, a simple apology for bothering me wouldn’t have hurt. Could’ve been a funny back-and-forth of apologies, but nah, just dead silence. So yeah, I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number.

I must admit, I felt quite apprehensive after viewing countless videos highlighting various phone scams. That said, I had recently filled out a form regarding Vodafone's broadband services, which mentioned they'd get in touch within five days. So, out of curiosity, I decided to enter the number into Vodafone's 'Is this a call from Vodafone?' feature on their website, and it confirmed that the call was indeed genuine.

So, I found out about Vodafone’s discounted broadband for people on benefits from Money Saving Expert and decided to give it a go. You sign up online to show your interest, then they ring you back after a few days. If you happen to not pick up, I think they try calling up to five times, but if you miss all those calls, you might have to start the application all over. My whole process was done online. I reached out to them first through their website, ignored their first attempt since the number was unfamiliar, but after a bit of digging, I took the second call and everything went smoothly.
