I received a dodgy phone call today claiming that a payment of £300 from my Visa debit card towards Amazon had been halted, alongside a £400 money transfer through Western Union described as ‘suspicious activity’. They prompted me to press some numbers to connect with a representative. Naturally, I immediately checked my bank accounts, and everything was perfectly fine. I reached out to my bank for clarification, and thankfully discovered it was all a scam.
