Somebody rang saying they were from Sky, claiming my internet was acting up - I had no idea about any problems! They kept wanting to know which computer or laptop I was connected to. Before I got stressed, my missus took over and told them everything was fine. Still, they insisted on asking about our device details. After she kept saying we were all good, they just cut the call with no reason given. This isn’t the first time we’ve had calls like this - the person on today’s call was called ‘Danielle’.

When I did, some annoying message played about “calls to this number cost money from mobiles.” I didn’t hang about and just ended the call straightaway. Just a heads-up - calling them back could end up costing you a fair bit, so watch out for that!

Got an unexpected call from a guy with a South Asian accent who said his name was ‘Nick’ and claimed he was ringing from ‘Platinum Supermarket’. He said he had just two quick questions that wouldn’t take more than half a minute. This is typical spam stuff, with fake caller names and made-up company names, plus the number looked like a UK landline but it’s all spoofed. Despite what they say, they’re not calling from Guernsey but a dodgy call centre in South Asia. Don’t bother ringing the number back because it’s not real. Best thing is just to block it and move on.
