I've just had a call from 01480456111 claiming to be Microsoft, but it’s definitely a scam. Watch out for it!

On the 28th of August 2020, at about 10:32am, I got a ring from 002031466687. The person claimed they were from HMRC and said they were looking into some tax fraud involving me. They warned me a police officer would get in touch soon, telling me to pay up or risk an arrest warrant. Then, just a bit later at 10:47, the same number, but showing as 01480456111, called again. This time, the caller said they were a police officer. I didn’t hang around and cut the call off.

Got a call from this number pretty late, like around 11.30pm on a Sunday, but no voicemail or anything. I rang it back and it just connected me to the 101 police number. Spoke to a woman there and she said no one's made any calls. Bit confused, think the number might have been spoofed or something?

Got a call from someone claiming I owed money for dodgy tax stuff, but I’m on PAYE so my tax’s always been sorted by my job. I told him I wasn’t paying and hung up. After that, I kept getting loads of calls which I ignored. Then, out of nowhere, he rang me on a completely different number, saying he was from my local HMRC office asking why I hadn’t answered earlier. I called him out on the number swap and he just tried to pretend it was all legit, but it was obviously just a dodgy scammer trying to get cash for nothing!
