Got a dodgy call on my home phone, said it was from my town. It was one of those automated warnings about weird payments - something like £300 to Amazon and £1000 sent overseas. Tried ringing the number back from my mobile but it said it wasn’t a valid number. So yeah, these scammers are definitely faking the caller ID to make it look local.
